Psychotherapy Services
Therapy at your fingertips!
Individual virtual therapy for clients based in New York and Florida.
My clients are teens and adults (14 yo+) who are navigating:
Teen Issues: The truth is being a teenager can be tough and overwhelming. It is a phase in your life that can be filled with mood swings, anxiety, low self-confidence, conflict, and curiosity as you explore who you are and who you want to be in this life. You may be having issues at school, with friends, and/or at home with family. You may be feeling misunderstood or confused because your behaviors don’t always match what you’re feeling inside. You are not alone, there are people who understand you and you can learn skills to feel better about yourself and manage what’s going on around you. I’m happy to help. Parents - if you think that your teen can benefit from speaking with a professional, please reach out so we can discuss how I may be a resource.
Parenting Challenges: In my work with kids I’ve found that there is not enough professional mental health support for parents directly around parenting challenges. Parents are expected to struggle through it all as just part of their job. But no one handed you a guidebook that said “here’s how to parent a child during a time of high social media influence and political and world uncertainties”. Not to mention having a child with unique developmental, emotional, and/or behavioral needs. On top of that, add your own personal life and/or professional stressors, and no wonder you are feeling so overwhelmed. While a child and adolescent therapist provides tools for your child and skills to improve your relationship, sometimes you also need your own safe, confidential and non-judgmental space to process. I offer individual adult therapy sessions focused on helping you find your balance. Whether that’s specifically focusing on the challenges of parenting and engaging in parent skills/coaching, or having a space to vent about juggling it all, you deserve your own support.
Anxiety: You’re in your head, and it’s so hard not to be. When we are constantly reading, looking at, and hearing about such terrible things happening around the world, in our country, our cities, our neighborhoods, and maybe also within our families - it is no wonder our nervous systems can become sensitized and agitated. You’re not sleeping well, you feel more on edge, you feel even a bit paranoid and less trusting of others and situations. And maybe you’ve always been this way, always catastrophizing. But now you’ve had enough. You realize you want to feel better, feel more confident & not allow anxiety to continue to stop you from the life you deserve to be living. I’m here to guide you through that.
Relationship Issues (& People Pleasing): Are you everyone’s go-to person but feel like you don’t have someone that you can go to who really understands you? You may find yourself consistently going the extra mile to make others happy, which is sometimes a pleasing feeling, but in the end you’re burnt out. You feel like others aren’t appreciative of your efforts. Maybe others have expressed having trouble getting close to you, which is confusing. You begin to feel resentment toward the people in your life. Why are relationships so complicated when you’re just trying to do the right thing for everyone all of the time? Let’s untangle this together.
Life Transitions: Career changes, becoming a parent, losing a loved one, getting married, getting divorced, health status changes, moving from your place of origin… the list goes on. In general we all understand that life will have periods of change. Someone used to change your diapers and now you’re an adult with responsibilities. But while we may be conscious of this concept, the reality of navigating life transitions can feel extremely tough. Life transitions require not only an adjustment in our daily routines, but also acceptance that there may now be a change in our identity, our roles, relationships and/or how we perceive life. That can feel really unsettling for many of us and so difficult to face. I’m here to help.
I’m passionate about providing access to a safe space for historically marginalized populations including BIPOC and LGBTQ communities. Including the above, many of my clients seek support around race-related and identity stressors. Discussions on the impacts of oppressive systems, politics and culture are welcome in your therapy sessions with me as these areas cause real harm and impact mental health and daily functioning.
Next Steps & What to Expect
Visit my “Get In Touch” page to learn how you may request a free consultation. The consultation meeting will serve to determine if I am the right fit for your needs, before moving forward with an intake session, and any further engagement in therapy sessions.
An intake session will involve a comprehensive review of your history, current area(s) of concern and a thoughtful, collaborative treatment plan creation to clarify your goals.
We move forward with 45 - 60 minute therapy sessions, on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. Frequency is determined by availability and my clinical recommendation based on the assessment of your area(s) of concern.
Your time in therapy concludes when you’ve made meaningful progress towards your goals, or whenever you choose to end therapy for any reason.
